Robert C. Hughes maintains an active practice is both Georgia and South Carolina. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, construction law (including litigation of construction defects and contract disputes, contract drafting/negotiation, mechanic’s and materialman’s liens, payment bond claims, and regulatory compliance matters), business planning and formation, general corporate law, and insurance law.

Robert received Martindale Hubbell’s “AV Preeminent Lawyer” peer view rating, the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards, and he maintains a “Superb” Avvo Lawyer Rating (10 out of 10).

While in law school Robert was a member of the Mercer Law Review and authored the case not “Nothing Lost, Nothing Owed: Supreme Court Upholds State IOLTA Program in Brown v. Legal Foundation of Washington,” 55 Mercer. L. Rev. 815 (2004). Upon graduating law school, Robert was inducted into the Brainerd Currie Honor Society (membership limited to top 10% of graduating class). He also received the Guerry R. Moore Insurance Award and the Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Writing.
