Blake W. Bushnell is the founder and managing member of the Bushnell Law Group and an experienced construction and real estate lawyer with more than 35 years of practice. He represents business and property owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, manufacturers, suppliers, and sureties in a wide range of construction, real estate, and related commercial matters.
Blake has extensive experience representing clients in construction and real estate disputes and has served as lead counsel in proceedings before mediators, arbitrators, administrative bodies, and state and federal courts. His practice includes construction law, real estate matters, construction litigation, and commercial litigation, with substantial experience guiding clients through complex disputes and formal dispute resolution proceedings.
In addition to representing clients as an advocate, Blake serves on a panel of court-appointed arbitrators and mediators for a variety of disputes. He has also prepared materials and participated as a panelist in continuing legal education programs and has spoken before industry trade groups, sharing his experience on legal issues with both attorneys and industry professionals.

Blake has been recognized for many years by The Best Lawyers in America for his work in Construction Law, Construction Litigation, and Commercial Litigation. He has also been consistently recognized by Honolulu Magazine among Hawaii’s Best Lawyers in construction law and litigation.
Admitted in Hawaii since 1987, Blake is also admitted to the federal courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his J.D. from the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law, where he later taught appellate advocacy as an adjunct professor for several years. He previously earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
